Impromptu dance party? Brain break in the classroom? Something fun to defer the bedtime meltdown time??? Gonoodle.com is a great resource for parents and teachers.
Of course, we used it to survive the first day of homeschool, with all its successes and failures, but we made it!
My kids were already VERY familiar with gonoodle.com, we use it mainly for our FRIDAY NIGHT DANCE PARTIES or SATURDAY AFTERNOON SWINGS! Woot woot! Never a dull moment around here.
Go Noodle has guided dances and silly songs that you can enjoy in the classroom between subjects or just for fun at home and it is good for children and adults of all ages. My 2 year old even loves it! The man of the house doesn’t join in on the dancing, but he does crack a smile 🙂
There are popular dances (Cha-Cha slide, Whip Nae Nae, Let it Go, Kidz Bop) and a lot created just for the site with unique dancers. Also, a lot of those playground rhyming songs that 90s kids loved, kid exercises (zumba and yoga), and other guided dancing songs.
You get to pick a “champ” character who moves up a level for every 10 dances you complete. He goes to a mysterious machine (the transmogrifier) and upgrades until you max him out, then you get to pick a new one. The kids love watching this happen and always ask to do more when we get close. It would be great for preschool, homeschool, and overall parenting in general. Who doesn’t love to dance??
I know we are always looking for something fun to do and I like to use it right before bed as a way to get the energy out and wind down without the relentless meltdowns and screaming that can happen when young children are tired. The joys of parenthood.
